PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – As I wrap up my third month at WAVY, I’ve had the opportunity to connect with some amazing people and learn about the ins and outs of the industry. Recently, I met with Earlisha Scott, one of the account executives here. We had an engaging conversation about the importance of maintaining strong client relationships, a vital skill in advertising and marketing.
Earlisha emphasized a straightforward approach,
“Honesty and good communication.”
As someone who wants to work in Advertising and Marketing, this resonated with me. I know that genuine connections can make all the difference when managing accounts. It’s clear that building trust is essential for success in this field.
In our chat, I also learned about Earlisha’s passion for charity, which showcased her big heart and commitment to giving back. WAVY collaborates with Coats for Families, “helping those in need by collecting new and like-new coats for all ages and sizes.”
It’s inspiring to see how personal values can align with professional life, reminding me that humanity is a significant factor in this business.
With my internship reaching the halfway mark, I’m starting to think more about my intern project. While I can’t reveal too much just yet, I’ll give you a little hint: I’ll be doing a lot of talking! I’m excited to dive into this project and see the results unfold as I bring my vision to life.
Next week, I’ll be meeting with Kenisha Stringfield to work on the Hampton Roads show. I’m eager to observe the show’s flow and learn more about the operational side of things. It’s going to be a fantastic experience, and I can’t wait to share my insights in my next blog post.
Stay tuned for more updates as I continue this exciting journey at WAVY!
