Sunday – another nice day of weather is expected with temps in the low to mid 60s and mostly sunny skies. Some high level cirrus clouds move in for the end of the day, but nothing to worry about overall.
Heading into the work week, our local weather looks dry for Monday. Temps will warm into the upper 60s to near 70 in spots Monday and Tuesday. A chance for a shower or two Tuesday night. A few showers can also be expected Wednesday into Wednesday night as a front approaches. That cold front will bring us much colder air for Thu/Fri. In the higher terrain of the mountains of VA/WV – there will even be snow!
In the tropics, Tropical Storm Sara is moving ashore near Honduras. The leftovers of the system will drift northward into the Gulf of Mexico sometime early next week. That tropical humidity could get caught up in the approaching cold front and enhance a little of the rainfall for Wednesday night, but certainly there’s nothing to worry about for here.
As the season starts to draw to a close, let’s take a look at the predictions vs actual. While still in the range, it was certainly closer to the low end of the forecast for named storms. However, if we look at ACE – Accumulated Cyclone Energy which is basically a measure of how much tropical energy there was – it was higher than last year and above average.
Hope you have a great Sunday!
