Cool, bright and breezy for the weekend! No weather worries over the next few days as long as you don’t mind it feeling a bit brisk at times.

The repetitive pattern of morning sun and afternoon clouds will continue today. The morning chill will give way to afternoon temperatures pinned in the 50s. Some of us will continue to notice the breeze, out of the north gusting to around 30 mph will help keep things cool.

As the big low pressure system to our north moves out (it’s been keepin’ it cool for the past few days), an area of high pressure moves in from the west. The breeze backs off tomorrow and plenty of April sunshine will help get us close to 60°. Gradual warming then follows on Monday with highs in the 60s, and low 70s are soon to follow for a majority of next week.

Rain chances remain slim for most of next weeks’ warmth, too, with not returning until late week (Thursday & Friday).

We’re expected great viewing for the solar eclipse on Monday! Reminder, the path of totality is to our west, so we’ll be able to witness a partial eclipse. Beginning around 2pm and lasting through 4:30pm, 78% of the sun will be covered by the moon as it passes between the sun & the Earth.

The path of totality will be to our west, from Texas through the Midwest, up into the Great Lakes region passing through parts of the Northeast. The ultimate experience is under the path of totality, when 100% of the sun is blocked by the moon. During that time, the afternoon skies will go completely dark, allowing starts and even a few planets to be visible… in the middle of the afternoon!

While we don’t get that full effect here at home, if you have the proper solar eclipse glasses, it’s still an incredible sight to see!
