The winds of change blow in Thursday! Temps much cooler for the day with temperatures in the 50s. We’ll see partly cloudy skies and a decent wind continuing through the day. Winds could gust to 25-35 mph out of the west.

On Friday, we’ll start off the day sunny – and cold! Temperatures in the morning will be in the upper 30s, but with the wind it will feel colder. Wind chill values of 29-34°F can be expected across the area. In the afternoon, a weak disturbance moving through northern VA may throw us some extra clouds or even a brief rain shower to parts of the Eastern Shore, Middle Peninsula or Peninsula.

With a persistant west wind again out of the west at 20-30 mph for gusts, some soundside flooding is possible in the Outer Banks through Saturday morning. Any inundation should be around 1-2ft.

Sunshine returns for the weekend, with still a bit of a breeze Saturday. Not as much wind Sunday with temperatures returning to the upper 50s to near 60. Low to mid 60s for Monday and Tuesday.

If you’re heading west tonight or Friday morning, there will be some snow in the mountains of WV, VA, TN, and NC! Parts of I-81 near Smyth County/Marion, VA could see some snow on the roads. I-64 through WV could also be impacted.

Hope you have a great Thursday!
