We’ll be a little breezy Saturday with winds out of the north gusting to 20-25 at times. Sunny skies are expected Saturday. Skies will start to become partly to mostly cloudy on Sunday, ahead of another approaching front.
An isolated shower or two is possible late in the day Sunday, towards the upper end of the Peninsula (New Kent/JC/Wburg) and Surry/Sussex. Rain chances and coverage go up overnight, with scattered rain overnight.
The rain will then move east overnight, and we’ll see some on/off showers through Veterans Day on Monday morning.
Rainfall totals, while heavier than recent rain, are still only expected to be around 0.50″ of an inch or so. We need a good soaking rain to realy put a dent in any drought conditions.
In the tropics, Rafael is starting to weaken over the Gulf Of Mexico as it begins to be impacted by wind shear over the weekend. This will cause it to weaken into next week. It is forecast to move west, then slowly drop south. No major threats to any land areas.
Hurricane Season ends on November 30th. The 2-3 week tropical outlook shows some potential for development in the Caribbean again before the end of the month. Nothing solid on the models right now, but we’ll keep an eye on it.
Hope you have a great weekend!
