Manthey Kit for Porsche 911 GT3 RS deletes the rear window

Porsche’s 992-generation 911 GT3 RS is already one of the most potent factory-built track cars money can buy, but Manthey-Racing has worked hard to improve the formula with a range of performance upgrades.

Manthey is Porsche’s most successful customer racing team, having won multiple races and championships. This success has earned Manthey the right to serve as Porsche’s factory team on occasion, including in the World Endurance Championship, and it has also led to a range of Manthey upgrades being offered at Porsche dealerships.

The latest upgrades will be available in a new Manthey Kit, which Porsche revealed on Friday. The automaker confirmed the kit will be available in Europe starting next January, and in other markets starting next March. Availability in the U.S. hasn’t been announced, though some Manthey products are already sold here.

As with previous Manthey upgrades, the new Manthey Kit boosts performance on the racetrack via changes to the chassis and aerodynamics, as opposed to boosting horsepower. The focus of the latest kit was on increasing cornering speeds. According to Manthey boss Nicolas Raeder, the upgrades significantly improve lap times of the GT3 RS.

Porsche already set a Nürburgring lap time of 6:49.328 with the stock GT3 RS in 2022, and Raeder said that Manthey plans to set its own time in the near future.

The most obvious change to the car is the new aerodynamics package. There are bigger spoilers front and rear (including a DRS for the rear wing), front dive planes, wheel arch Gurney flaps, aerodiscs for the rear wheels, and multiple roof fins. However, the highlight is the new panel that replaces the rear window. It features its own central stabilizing fin, and thanks to carbon-fiber construction, it is around 25% lighter than the original window.

The result, according to Manthey is more than 2,200 pounds of downforce at 177 mph, versus a stock figure of 1,895 pounds.

For the suspension, the engineers increased the spring rates of the semi-active coilovers to suit the higher downforce loads, increasing them by 30% at the front and 15% at the rear. New active dampers also work with a new control unit that Manthey said delivers more precision than stock, and as a result improved stability. There are Normal, Sport, and Track modes to choose from, and in Track mode the driver has the ability to adjust the setup.

The brake package is upgraded with steel brake lines and, as an option, racing brake pads designed to reduce fade while enhancing responsiveness. Other options include some visual tweaks like Manthey-branded illuminated door sill guards, puddle lamps, and various decals. A tow hook can also be installed.

As the drivetrain has been left unchanged, the GT3 RS’s 4.0-liter flat-6 still pumps out a stock 518 hp, with drive sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Porsche hasn’t said how much the Manthey Kit will cost, but the automaker confirmed that installing the kit won’t affect the new car warranty.

Porsche has just updated the 992-generation 911 for the 2025 model year, including adding a hybrid powertrain to the GTS model. The Turbo, Turbo S, and GT3 RS models carry over unchanged for 2025, but updates are being developed, likely for the 2026 model year. The updated GT3 RS has been spotted testing and is rumored to be coming with significant changes to its engine.
