Markeshia Jackson is an award-winning journalist who joined the WAVY-TV 10/WVBT-FOX43 news team as a nightside reporter in June of 2024.
She is excited to call the Hampton Roads area home. Prior to joining WAVY, Markeshia worked at the NBC & FOX Affiliate KFDX/KJTL in Wichita Falls, Texas as a Reporter and Weekend Anchor. North Texas gave her the platform to tell a plethora of stories, with an impact that stretched well beyond the Texoma Region.
Markeshia was recently a finalist for two awards by the Texas Association of Broadcasters, ultimately taking home the ‘Small Market Reporter of The Year’ Award in April 2024.
Markeshia Jackson was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies from Xavier University in 2021. In college she interned for FOX19 Now in Cincinnati, she also held three consecutive internships with CBS News.
When not chasing her next big story, Markeshia is out exploring her new city, either trying a new restaurant or enjoying a day at the beach. You can catch her on WAVY News 10 weekdays at 10 p.m. and 11 p.m.
