Jane Alvarez-Wertz is the Managing Editor of Digital Content for https://digital-staging.wavy.com/. She is responsible for managing news and lifestyle content across all digital media platforms for the station.
Jane joined WAVY/WVBT in 1999 as a news producer. In 2007, she became the first Digital Executive Producer in the company, LIN Media at the time.
She was honored in 2014 with the company’s Circle of Excellence Award, which recognizes the top employees in the company for that calendar year.
Jane is also a member of the 2019 Virginia Association of Broadcasters Best of the Best Leadership Program and was invited to be a mentor for the 2020 class.
Other awards received under Jane’s leadership: Virginia AP Best Website | Large Market, Virginia Association of Broadcasters Outstanding Website of the Year, Regional Edward R. Murrow Award | Best Website, VAPB Best Website | Superior Award.
