Deja Parker joined the WAVY10/FOX43 news team in August 2024 as a reporter.
Before joining WAVY, Deja worked at the ABC/CW affiliate WMDT in Salisbury, Maryland as a producer, reporter, and weekend anchor. Deja told stories surrounding the youth, crime, and many other topics across Delmarva. In June of 2024, she was awarded an AP Award for her Laurel Youth Crime story.
She grew up in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Deja found her love for storytelling at Cheltenham High School in her television production elective. She graduated from Temple University, earning her bachelor’s degree in media studies and production, with a minor in Africology and African American studies. Go Owls!
At Temple University, she hosted North Philly Now, a show focused on Philadelphia issues. She also interned with Glass Entertainment Group, WHYY, and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
When Deja isn’t working, she likes to play with her dog, Diesel, explore new places, read, cook, and go to church. She enjoys community service with her sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
