VIRGINIA BEACH, VA (WAVY) — Green Run senior quarterback Ksaan Farrar picked up right where he left off during his first season as a Stallion.
“It’s a thrill to be around him. I’ll miss him dearly next year,” said Green Run head coach Brandon Williams. “… He’s the type of kid every coach wants to play for them.”
During Green Run’s 54-0 Week 1 win against Tallwood, Farrar lit it up. He totaled 282 yards with five total touchdowns, making him the first Athlete of the Week of the 2024 fall season.
“Just as a high school talent, he’s ahead of his time,” Williams said. “… He does everything the right way on and off the field that’s why he’s getting the accolades he deserves.”
But for Farrar, who threw for more than 3,000 yards and 36 touchdowns in 2023, this is business as usual.
“I expected it,” Farrar said. “I have to set expectations high so I can surpass them.”
The 2023 season is one that changed Farrar’s life. He transferred to Green Run from Menchville before the start of last season, and once he got on the field, he never looked back.
He’s made the most of his time at Green Run, and has already garnered multiple Division I offers to play QB. He’s already committed to playing football at UConn next season.
“It didn’t feel real at one point,” Farrar said. “I had to weigh my options to see what was best for me and my family. It was a relief afterwards.”
So now, in a place that’s meant so much to him and his development, all he wants is to win a state championship to cap it all off.
“It would mean a lot,” Farrar said. “That would mean a lot. I need to add that, it’s on the bucket list for sure.”
Farrar and the Stallions will head to Kellam to take on the 1-0 Knights at 7 p.m. Friday.
