SEMESTERS AVAILABLE: Opportunity available all terms. SCHEDULE: Shifts will vary; Monday-Sunday (4 hours/day) WANTED: Hard-working interns interested in digital journalism across multi-media platforms. Web-based writing and video creation and publishing is part of this dynamic internship that will result in plenty of applicable skills/experience for the journalist preparing to enter today’s workforce. During this internship, you will:

• Learn to write for the web – get to see your byline posted on WAVY.com and hrScene.com
• Cover local community stories and events, representing all areas of Hampton Roads life and society
• Write, shoot and edit multimedia stories, expanding coverage on all mediums including but not limited to text, pre-produced video, still photography, live video, social media coverage, etc.
• Create FB posts/Tweets promoting coverage and engaging the community
• Work hand-in-hand with content producers to pitch and work on features
• Create a dynamic website with regular updates and constantly emerging content

Applicants must have: 1. Writing, editing course backgrounds working/knowledge (WordPress CMS and most common social media platforms) 2. Videography course background/working knowledge (AVID or Adobe Premiere, preferably) 3. Great communication skills 4. Deadline-oriented 5. A passion for telling local stories.
