HAMPTON ROADS, Va. (WAVY) — Severe weather was expected to bring heavy wind, rain, and possibly hail to eastern Virginia and North Carolina Sunday night.
The Severe Thunderstorm Watch for our area was canceled and round one of the storms for North Carolina safely moved out. Round two was expected to come with the cold front after dark.
As of about 9 p.m., Meteorologist Steve Fundaro said the severe risk dropped from a level 3 to a level 1 — some downpours briefly with the cold front and sunshine returns Monday.
