We started the morning with some fog.  However, it wasn’t everywhere.  It was thick in some inland locations, and it did cause some traffic slowdowns for a while.  For everyone else, we had a nice morning with partly cloudy skies.  We’ll have nice weather during the daytime.  High pressure has moved in closer to the area.  It is to our south today. 

Winds are picking up out of the southwest.  Skies will be partly cloudy. High temps will rise to the low-mid 80s this afternoon with cooler temps near the shore.  We may catch a stray shower this afternoon, but it’s a very low chance.  There is a cold front to the west that will impact us this evening.  Between about 6 and 10pm (give or take) there will be a big line of showers and storms moving into the region.

There will be some brief heavy rain and gusty winds.  We may even see some severe weather.  Strong/gusty winds are the main threat, but some hail is possible.  The threat for tornadoes is lower, but not zero.

We have a marginal risk (lowest category) for severe weather in the region, but there is a slight risk (level 2 out of 5) towards Middlesex County and the Northern Neck.  After the rain, we’ll dry out tonight.  Lows will be in the 60s.  Tomorrow will be nice.  We’ll be partly cloudy with highs in the upper 70s.  A few 80s inland.  It will be dry.  Then temps are going to heat up on Saturday.  Highs will be in the upper 80s to near 90.  It will be humid again too.  So get ready for very Summery weather.  We’ll have a mix of sun and clouds on Mother’s Day.  There may be some isolated showers. Highs will be in the 80s.  We’ll have warm temps and some scattered showers early next week.  Stay tuned for updates!
