NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A Portsmouth man has been charged in connection to a shooting that left another man dead in Norfolk.

Norfolk Police responded to a shooting that happened around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 5500 block of East Virginia Beach Boulevard — near the Military Circle area of Norfolk. 

Police said 43-year-old Breon Daughtry was found shot inside an apartment and died at the scene.

Multiple police cars were in the Crystal Lake Apartment complex for hours following the shooting, according to neighbors.  

Police said 20-year-old Marvin Bazemore Jr. was arrested and charged with concealing a dead body and obstruction of justice. Bazemore is being held at Norfolk City Jail without bond.

Tuesday’s shooting remains under investigation.
