JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — A 30-year-old woman from Charles City was found guilty on multiple charges for a fatal auto-pedestrian crash in James City County.

Amanda Marie Counterman-Jobb was found guilty on August 23 in Williamsburg-James City County Circuit Court for involuntary manslaughter in a vehicle and an improper brake charge. The charges stem from a June 26 crash on Richmond Road.

Police say 50-year-old Shelia Cowles was walking in the area when she was hit by a Ford Explorer. Cowles died at the scene.

Countermann-Jobb also had the child abuse charge, DWI, and involuntary manslaughter/aggravated charges dismissed. She is scheduled to be sentenced on November 19.
