PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – An inmate at the Hampton Roads Regional Jail died early Sunday morning.
Jail officials say 32-year-old Regina Marie Honeycutt suffered a medical emergency Saturday night. She was transported to a local hospital and died Sunday morning at 10:47 a.m.
Honeycutt had been at the jail since Friday. She was serving a three year sentence on a probation violation imposed by Norfolk Circuit Court.
The jail says it’s conducting an administrative review into Honeycutt’s death and the Portsmouth Police Department has been notified.
