NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Police are investigating a homicide after a man was found dead with apparent gunshot wounds Thursday afternoon.
According to Newport News police, they were called to the 700 block of Gloucester Drive around 1:30 p.m. for reports of gunshots being fired.
When officers were on the way to the scene, the call was upgraded to a shooting. Police say they found a man with gunshot wounds when they arrived and he was pronounced dead at the scene. He’s been identified as Raghib Ismail Brooks, 27, of Hampton.
Officers are investigating a homicide in the 700 block of Gloucester Drive. The call came in at 1:29 pm. When officers arrived on scene they located an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds.
