CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — Chesapeake Police are investigating robbery at a Chesapeake Taco Bell Tuesday night in which employees were held a gunpoint.
Officers were dispatched to the Taco Bell located in Edinburgh on Hillcrest Parkway just before 10:30 p.m.
By the time officers arrived to the scene, the robber had left the scene. However, investigators say they are looking for a man who stole multiple items from the business.
The exact items stolen aren’t yet known according to a police spokesperson but they do say employees were directed to go into another room while the robbery took place.
Police dispatch scanner traffic, said that area was the freezer. 10 On Your Side has been unable to independently confirm this.
“We are shocked to hear that this happened,” a representative from Taco Bell Corporate said. “The franchise owner and operator of this location have informed us that they are working with the local authorities in their investigation and that they will be offering support to all team members present.”
Burger Busters Inc., the Virginia Beach based owner of the fast food restaurant, were not immediately available for comment.
