SMITHFIELD, Va. (WAVY) – A woman was arrested Tuesday afternoon after a shooting left someone hurt near Wrenn Road.

According to officials, on Oct. 22 around 12:45 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Wrenn Road for reports of a shooting.

Officers arrived to the scene and found one person suffering from a gunshot wound to the arm. An officer was able to apply a tourniquet on the victim before they were taken to a local hospital for further treatment.

Shortly afterwards, officers were able to detain the suspect, 19-year-old Elriana Hill, and charged her with the following:

  • 1 count of aggravated malicious wounding
  • 4 counts of attempted malicious wounding
  • 5 counts of use of firearm in commission of a felony
  • 6 counts of shooting within 1,000 feet of a school
  • 1 count of shooting into an occupied vehicle
  • 1 count of shooting into an occupied building
  • 4 counts of misdemeanor destruction of property

Hill is currently being held without bond.
