PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Out of all the things that scream “patriotic” in America, beer and serving your fellow neighbor are near the top of the list. So, it should come as no surprise that Virginia’s independent craft beer industry is bounding together to help with Hurricane Helene relief.

There is a growing list of breweries participating in the “Pouring for Neighbors” initiative, which is is being held to provide financial aid for recovery efforts. The breweries are giving a percentage of sales from their beer of choice to the effort.

This initiative was coordinated by the North Carolina Craft Brewers Guild.

Breweries across the nation are participating, including the following in the Hampton Roads region:

  • 1700 Brewing – Newport News, VA
  • Afterglow Brewing – Norfolk, VA – All Rye, All Rye, All Rye IPA

  • Benchtop Brewing Company – Norfolk, VA – Tormenta Negra
