PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – From an early age, Kenneth Dorsey Jr. always had an appreciation for math and science. He wanted to bring value to society by solving problems and STEM provided him with the tools to do that.

He put his skills to use as an industrial engineer. He had an idea to solve another problem and give back to the community that raised him. He founded a non-profit that connects students with the mentors they need to help them succeed.

We caught up with him when he visited Kempsville High School’s Entrepreneur Business Academy for this week’s I am Hampton Roads.
