PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – Surrounded by water and farm land, Currituck County is a nature lovers paradise. Hunting, farming and fishing is a way of life for many who live in northeastern North Carolina. To celebrate this unique history and way of life, the Currituck Wildlife Festival was started soon after the turn of the century. You can enjoy great wildlife art, food and fellowship at this weekend’s Coinjock Ruritan Club 18th annual Currituck Wildlife Festival. It’s taking place Sept. 7 and 8 at Currituck County High School in Barco. Proceeds from the event benefit local organizations and it’s just $5 for both days!
