FRANKLIN, Va. (WAVY) — A convicted felon who’s not allowed to have guns had several found by federal law enforcement at his Franklin home on Wednesday, authorities say.
The guns were recovered while the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives executed a search warrant at Reginald Burney’s home in the 300 block of Clay Street, Franklin police announced Thursday.
Burney has been charged with two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, use or possession of machine gun for aggressive purposes, and obstruction of justice.
Authorities say they’re still looking into how Burney came into possession of the guns, three pistols and a longer AR-style gun.
Meanwhile Burney is being held at Western Tidewater Regional Jail without bond.
