VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Coming to a game night near you—Monopoly is about to look really familiar. The popular board game has announced a forthcoming Virginia Beach edition, but they need your help filling that board with iconic hotels, restaurants and landmarks.

So we wanted to know, what would you like to see on the board?

Everyone will be wanting to pass go and collect $200 on this special board featuring the Resort City.

“We love to feature all of these communities and what makes them unique and special,” Katie Bradshaw with Top Trumps USA, an official Hasbro Licensee said.

And Virginia Beach has so many things that make it unique that people would love to see on one of America’s oldest board games.

“Fort Story with the lighthouses, of course, King Neptune,” said Virginia Beach resident Lori McGhee.

“There’s one—Ocean Eddie’s. Met my wife of 21 years there,” Virginia Beach native Patrick Armstrong said.

“I would imagine the Cavalier, something about Rudee Inlet maybe. Maybe Mount Trashmore,” Virginia Beach native Parkerson Hague said.

“The pier would be nice, and I think Rudee Inlet, the jetty sticking out,” Virginia Beach resident Rob McGhee said.

They want to hear all your ideas on how make this edition extra special.

“We don’t feature any chains or anything like that,” Bradshaw said. “We want to make sure this is Virginia Beach-specific.”

Which would make Ocean Eddie’s a perfect contender.

“The restaurant has been here for almost 70 years,” said Ocean Eddie general manager Parkerson Hague. “It started as a hot dog stand and it’s been a family thing since then.”

“The lighthouse restaurant that used to be here, we really miss that,” McGhee said.

So take a “chance” and submit your ideas before the Sept. 7 deadline.

“Some of the markers could be surfboards and things that would be common at the beach. Big floppy hats.” resident Anita Owens said.

“And of course the naval bases — Oceana, and Dam Neck and Little Creek,” McGhee said.

Submit your ideas by emailing VirginiaBeach@TopTrumpsUSA.com, or you can fill out a submission form here: us.toptrumps.com/pages/virginia-beach-monopoly. You can expect to see the game on store shelves sometime in March 2025.
