NEWPORT NEWS, VA (WAVY) — Warwick’s 4-star do-it-all safety Messiah Delhomme has officially found his next home to play his college football at.

Delhomme, one of the top safety recruits in the country, verbally committed to play at the University of Maryland on Saturday. He came into the day with six final choices, and chose the Terps over Alabama, UVA, Virginia Tech, Syracuse, and Ohio State.

Delhomme is currently recovering from a broken leg he suffered in May of this year, but says he’s excited to get back onto the field for college ball. When asked about the possibility of returning for his Senior season at Warwick, neither he or Head Coach Corey Hairston Jr. ruled out the possibility of the Raiders star making a return to play before season’s end.
