HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Hampton Police say they are investigating a homicide following a shooting early Friday morning on West Chamberlin Avenue in the Phoebus area of Hampton.
Hampton Police said the call for the shooting in the 300 block of West Chamberlin Avenue came in at 12:36 a.m. When officers arrived on scene, they located a 48-year-old man suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound.
Members of the Hampton Division of Fire and Rescue transported the victim to the hospital where he later died.
At this time the motive and circumstance surrounding this incident remain under investigation by detectives from the Major Crimes Unit.
