SACRAMENTO, CA (WAVY) — One of the best ODU hoops stars in recent memory is getting his shot back to basketball’s biggest stage.

Former Monarch Guard, Ahmad Caver was called up to play on the Sacramento Kings Summer League Roster. Caver was instrumental in getting ODU to its most recent NCAA Tournament appearance in 2019. During his time with the Monarchs, he was a three-time All-Conference USA selection, and averaged just over 11 points per game.

Post-ODU, Caver had a brief stint with the Indiana Pacers, playing in one game following a G-League callup in 2021. Since then, he’s been playing overseas, and has made the most of his time getting back to this point. He won the Lithuanian League MVP Award in the 2022-23 season before playing one year in the French league.

Caver did not play during the Kings Wednesday night Summer League game against the Golden State Warriors.
