SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Two people have been displaced by an overnight fire at a home in Suffolk.

Just after 3 a.m. Sunday, crews responded to the 100 block of Edgewood Avenue for a house fire. They arrived on the scene to find smoke coming from a bedroom window.

Firefighters attacked the flames and searched the inside of the home. By 3:43 a.m. the fire was under control. Officials said the bedroom was significantly damaged by fire.

No one was hurt, and the American Red Cross is assisting the displaced.

The Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
