COROLLA, N.C. (WAVY) — Fire crews in Corolla responded to a house fire around 1:10 a.m. on March 15 on Lighthouse Road, officials said.

The fire was out by 3:30 a.m. This was a vacant rental house near the fire station. The fire went through the roof when crews arrive, but nobody was injured. The fire was put out with mutual aid from Duck and Kitty Hawk, Southern Shores was also paged out but stood down.

The house was a three-story home and the owner is from Massachusetts. Corolla Fire rescue is a combination of volunteer and paid firefighters.
