Finally! Was it too much to ask for? A little sun…Wind gusts below 25mph….Dry air…a stoppage of using 3 dots for dramatic effect… Well, the weather over the next few days will be worth the wait. We just have to get past this morning’s chill first. As predicted temps started off in the 30s and 40s.

Temps This Morning

Some temps were near the freezing mark around 7am. We started off dry and chilly, but the sun was out in full force.

Sunshine On Tower Cam

We have high pressure anchored to our south. It is a strong and large system.

Regional Weather Map

We’ve finally lost the strong winds that we’ve had for the last couple of weeks. That will be a huge plus in the forecast. It will be out of the west today at about 5-10mph. Also, the air is super dry for this time of year. Dew points are down in the teens and 20s.

Dew Points

These are dew points that are typically around in January or early February. This is great as we need really dry out the saturated ground. Dry air can heat up and cool down a lot faster than humid air. That’s why it heats up so much in the deserts, but it can still get cool during the night. Therefore our temps will shoot up into the upper 60s and low 70s this afternoon.

Forecast Temps

It will become a great day for all outdoor activities! Just keep in mind that if you do some boating that the water temps are still only in the upper 40s and 50s.

We’ll continue with the nice weather over the next 2-3 days. We’ll be dry with lots of sunshine tomorrow and Thursday. High temps will be in the 70s.

Temperature Trend

We’ll stay dry through most of Friday, but a few showers could move in by late in the day. High temps will be in the upper 70s. We’ll have scattered rain showers Friday night, but they may move out by early Saturday morning. That would give us a mostly dry day with high temps near 70. I’ll have more detail about that and Sunday in tomorrow’s weather blog.
