CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — A man is dead and another person has been arrested following a shooting at the Bainbridge Commons Apartments in Chesapeake Monday night.
According to police, the call came in for an armed person in the Grady Crescent area around 11:58 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13. When officers arrived, they found a man who was shot at the Bainbridge Commons Apartments.
The man was transported to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.
On Wednesday, police identified the man as 40-year-old Martario Donta Gee of Portsmouth.
Tia Nicole Johnson, 22, was arrested in connection with this incident and charged with firearm use in commission of a felony and first degree murder.
Johnson is currently being held without bond. Her first court appearance was scheduled for 8:15 a.m. Thursday in Chesapeake.
