NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A North Carolina active duty servicemember was sentenced Wednesday to 27 years in prison after he was found guilty of coercing almost 30 underage girls to produce child sexual abuse images.

Brandon Tyler Lindsey, 27, regularly went to his hometown in Chesapeake to have sexual relations with underage girls — the youngest being 12, according to court documents. He used social media to target minors in the Hampton Roads area, and was stationed at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro, North Carolina.

Using social media accounts, like Instagram, he messaged multiple underaged girls with the same generic message and “liked” their photos, according to a release. After grooming his victims, and getting them to trust him, he requested child sexual abuse images and attempted to meet in person for sexual acts.

Lindsey would occasionally meet with the same minors on several occasions over years. Lindsey caused at least 29 victims to produce child sexual abuse images for his sexual gratification, a release states.
