This morning we had a cluster of rain showers try to move in from the west. However, it fell apart as it moved east. There were also a few showers forming offshore.
A little rain did survive in a ribbon along the Albemarle Sound, but it is weakening as it tries to move northeast.
Today we have an area of low pressure falling apart to our west. Meanwhile, another area of low pressure is forming offshore.
As we’ll be in in-between systems we are pretty much going to miss out on a lot of the rain. There will be some isolated showers, but that’s about it. That could happen at any time of the day up until about 6pm. We’ll be mostly cloudy through the day with some peeks of sun at times. The wind will pick up out of the northeast. Gusts will be up to 20mph. So high temps will only run up into the upper 40s to near 50 degrees.
The offshore low will move farther out to sea tonight and tomorrow. It will become strong, but only as it moves far away. High pressure will build in from the west on Thursday. That will help to scour out the clouds. We’ll be mostly sunny tomorrow. Plus, there will be less wind. It should be a pretty nice day. High temps will be in the low 50s.
We’ll be even better on Friday. Skies will be partly sunny. High temps will make it into the upper 50s. We’ll cool down a little on Saturday, but we’ll stay dry. High temps will be in the 40s.
We’ll warm up a bit on Sunday back to the 50s.
