SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The AARP Tax-Aide Foundation is offering free tax preparation services again this year.

The tax assistance is available to anyone, free of charge, with a special focus on taxpayers who are over 50 or have low to moderate income.

Tax-Aide volunteers are located nationwide. There are several free tax assistance locations in Hampton Roads. Go to this link to find one near you.

The Suffolk Workforce Development Center provided 10 On Your Side some specific information on its upcoming tax services provided by the AARP Tax-Aide Foundation. The services will be offered Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the center, located at 157 North Main Street, Suite D, on the 2nd floor.

Appointments are required prior to service.

Appointments will be booked by contacting the center at (757) 774-7908 starting Thursday, Feb. 2. Instructional packets are also available for pickup on this date.

All documents in the packets need to be completed before your scheduled appointment.

New this year, North Carolina 2023 tax returns can now be filed at the Suffolk location.

The last date for the tax preparation service will be April 15, 2024.
