PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — One man is dead after a shooting in Portsmouth. The victim was identified as 29-year-old Tayontrae A. Baker.
Portsmouth Police Department were dispatched to the 800 block of Stratford Street around 9:40 p.m. for an adult man suffering from a gunshot wound on Nov. 25, police said.
The victim was transported to a hospital, but died from his injuries. Next of kin has been notified of his death.
This is an ongoing investigation.
On Monday, Nov. 27 at 3:30 p.m. Portsmouth Police held a R.E.S.E.T. Walk in the 800 block of Stratford Street, near Carey Circle.
