NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A 43-year-old man that went missing early Saturday morning has been found dead.

According to police, officers responded around 12:25 p.m. to the 1100 block of Water St. Norfolk police and fire-rescue recovered a body in the area, which was later identified as 43-year-old Vaughn Parker Jr.

Parker’s wife told Chesapeake police that the last time she saw him was around 2:15 a.m. Saturday.

Parker left their home alone in the couple’s 2022 Nissan Rogue. The vehicle’s plates were later captured by a license plate reader near Waters Street in Norfolk just before 3 a.m.

Police say the vehicle was located at Harbor Park in Norfolk with a pair of shoes by it. When called, Parker’s cell went straight to voicemail.

This incident is being considered as an undetermined death and police say there are no signs of foul play at this time.
