CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — Search warrants suggest a pizza delivery driver,  murdered in Chesapeake earlier this month, was set up.

10 On Your Side also discovered why no one is yet charged with her murder and how a baby is involved.

30-year-old Stephanie Brainerd was delivering pizza, providing for her two children, when she was gunned down in her car two weeks ago.

Earlier this week, police charged 19-year-old Tonagee Ravenel, 18-year-old Antonio Britton and 20-year-old Semiya Davidson with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.

According to search warrants filed in Chesapeake Circuit Court, the apartment Brainerd was delivering to in Marina Point Apartments was vacant, suggesting a possible set up.

A patrol officer in the area on the night of March 14 heard numerous gunshots, then saw the suspects speeding away in an SUV.

The officer tried to stop the driver, who police identified as Davidson, but police say she kept going.

During the pursuit, police say one person jumped out of the car and ran.

They finally stopped in Portsmouth, where police arrested the other two suspects.

Police tell 10 On Your Side they also found an infant in that SUV.

Davidson faces additional charges of child endangerment and eluding.

Court documents also show investigators found a pizza delivery bag, a 9 mm handgun, magazine and cartridges.

No one is charged yet with murder. We confirmed that police are still trying to determine or prove who actually pulled the trigger.

A police spokesperson told me the investigation is ongoing and likely includes lab analysis that is sometimes done in Richmond.

As for the infant in the vehicle the night of the murder, police say the child is with family.
