PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Portsmouth Police say a man was shot and killed on George Washington Highway in Portsmouth early Tuesday morning and a second victim was located more than a mile away a couple hours later.

Officers arrived at the first scene in the 3900 block of George Washington Highway around 1:16 a.m. to find a man suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. Investigators say the man died as a result of his injuries a short time later. Police identified the man as 27-year-old D’Quonn Lee Epps.

A second victim from the same incident was found around 3 a.m. near the 200 block of Paradise Drive, police said. The 39-year-old man was transported to the hospital with a serious gunshot wound. He is currently in stable condition.
