HAMPTON ROADS, Va. (WAVY) — Dust off those skates as ice skating rinks return to Hampton Roads for the holiday season.

Here’s a list of some of the coolest places in town!

Norfolk

MacArthur on Ice returns for 2022. The outdoor ice skating rink, located outside of MacArthur Center Mall, opens Friday, Nov. 25, 2022 and continues through Monday, Jan. 16, 2023.

Pricing: $16 per person (includes skate rental), $13 per person – Cheap Skate TUESDAYS. Click here to purchase tickets in advance.

• Monday – Thursday, 4 p.m.-9 p.m.
• Friday, 4 p.m.-10 p.m.
• Saturday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m.
• Sunday, 12 p.m. -7 p.m.

• Nov. 25, 10 a.m.-10 p.m.
• Nov. 26, 10 a.m.-10 p.m.
• Dec. 20-23, 10 a.m.-10 p.m.

Williamsburg

The Liberty Ice Pavilion returns to the historic Duke of Gloucester Street in Colonial Williamsburg’s Merchant Square from Nov. 18, 2022 through February 26, 2023. Skate rental and concessions will be available. The Liberty Ice Pavillion is sponsored by Dominion.

Parking is available at the Art Museums of Colonial Williamsburg in the nearby hourly Merchants Square lots or in the paid parking garage on Henry Street.

Ice skaters can enjoy refreshments including hot cider, coffee, and more from concessions stands. There are also nearby bonfires that are lit at night. The outdoor table area also has heaters.

The ice rink is also made of real ice.

The ice rink has one-day passes which allow skaters to come and go throughout the day to skate.

Skating 1-day ticket prices:

• Adult: $16
• Youth (3-12): $15
• Child Under 3: Free

Season passes are also available.

Skating season pass:

• Adult: $110
• Youth (3-12): $95

Skate rental: $5.61 for all ages

Each Friday throughout December, Merchants Square hosts an open house from 6-8 p.m. in conjunction with the Colonial Williamsburg Yule Log ceremony.
