VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Virginia Beach native Leah Crouse is representing Team USA in Paris.
This is the first Olympics for the 24-year-old alum of Cox High School, where she helped lead the Falcons to their 18th and 19th state titles.
This year, Crouse and Team USA won silver in the 2024 FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifier to clinch the United States’ first field hockey Olympic berth since 2016.
Team USA will go in as the No. 13 seed, with pool play against No. 2 Argentina, No. 4 Australia, No. 6 Great Britain, No. 7 Spain and No. 18 South Africa. They’ll first face Argentina, who Crouse and the United States fell to in the finals of last year’s Pan American Games, first on July 27.
