PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Cox Communications experienced an outage that impacted phone systems Tuesday afternoon.
Cox Customer Help told users on social media the company was working “as quickly as possible” to restore service. There is no estimated time for a fix, according to a few replies to customers.
The website down detector showed outage areas in several states across the United States, including parts of Virginia and North Carolina.
Virginia Beach City Public Schools stated on Twitter phones were down across the school division. And Norfolk Public Schools issued a release stating the outage was affecting 20 of its schools and buildings.
The outage was resolved by 4 p.m.
